Something for the more adventurous, this walk can be executed in three sections: the Baroon Lookout Section, the Kondalilla section and the Mapleton Section. If you’re lucky, you may spot the odd wombat, echidna or kangaroo. Highlights are Blackall Range, the abundant waterfalls, flowing rivers and gorges, as well as watching the scenery change from eucalypt bushland to lush subtropical rainforests.

Mary Cairncross Nature Reserve

Take a gander into the Mary Cairncross Nature Reserve, a 55-hectare living museum of plant and animal life. This gem of a reserve is the remnants of some of the lush subtropical rainforests that once made up the Blackall Range. Here you can go wildlife spotting and learn about the ecology and history of the area.
